Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Neuro OR role requiring 2+ years of OR experience and on-call availability.

Details

• Operating Room unit specializing in Neurosurgical procedures such as craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusions, and minimally invasive spine surgery
• General OR setting supporting a variety of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, orthopedics, urology, general surgery, and robotics
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
• On-call responsibilities required
• Uses Epic charting system (preferred)
• Exposure to electrosurgical units, Steris equipment, Hana Table, and video integrated OR equipment

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with neurosurgical procedures and instrumentation preferred
• Two professional references required from a direct supervisor, ANM, or director in the applicable specialty
• Must have no pending license or certification status at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across multiple surgical specialties with a focus on neurosurgery
• Responsible for infection control, specimen handling, wound management, and adherence to Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
• Complete EKG and Pharmacology testing during orientation with a maximum of two attempts each; no retest remediation offered
• Facility maintains a smoke-free environment and a strict no call-in policy
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis (every other holiday)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Permanent or per diem staff cannot return to this health system for one year from their previous end date
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
