Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN cross-trained in psychiatric and general ED care for a 10-week winter night-shift contract requiring a CT or compact RN license.
Details
- Short term acute care Level III trauma center with 252 staffed beds
- Scheduled primarily in the psychiatric ED but may float to the main ED based on patient volumes and departmental needs
- Cares for all medical and psychiatric diagnoses across all patient ages
- Patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6
- Charting completed in Epic
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (1900-0730)
- Works every other weekend
- 10-week contract assignment with a start date no later than 12/18/2026
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Level II trauma center experience preferred
- Travel experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Preferred certification: MAB
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, drug overdose, suicidal patients, and violent behavior
- Experience with emergency medications, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and EKG interpretation
- 1 professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide care for both medical and psychiatric emergency patients, including triage and isolation precautions
- Scrub color required: royal blue
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemption
- No holiday RTO permitted for this assignment
- Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
- Local radius restrictions waived for this 10-week assignment
- Returning staff must have been gone at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- Free parking provided as part of the health system
