Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position at a tertiary care hospital, requiring an active NY RN license in hand and 1 year of MS/Tele experience.

Details

• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Works in a high volume Med/Surg Tele unit within a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Cares for patients in a 26-bed cardiac unit managing CHF, acute MI, post-device care (pacemakers), and arrhythmias
• Also covers a 51-bed general surgery unit including colon rectal, ostomy, plastic/cosmetic, and breast reconstruction patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for Med/Surg patients
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating is required
• EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required, ACLS preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code team use, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac, oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management

Additional Information

• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered for the travel position
• Previous staff must have completed assignment more than 6 months prior to reapplying
• Candidates cannot have more than 10 days of requested RTO to be considered
