Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - Oncology
Job Details:
• Independently administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and various injections according to provider orders
• Access and maintain port-a-caths, PICC lines, and Hickman catheters
• Perform venipuncture and dressing changes for PICC and Hickman catheters
• Draw labs via ports, PICC lines, and Hickman catheters
• Provide appropriate clinical care for all assigned patients
• Maintain accurate, concise, and complete patient records including condition, treatment, medications, and responses
• Monitor and document all intravenous therapies and patient responses
• Notify Medical Oncologist or Nurse Practitioner of unusual occurrences and initiate emergency action when necessary
• Provide patient, family, and caregiver education regarding medications, treatments, side effects, disease process, nutrition, and activity adjustments
• Verify informed consent prior to administering chemotherapy
• Demonstrate knowledge of proper handling, administration, and disposal of hazardous drugs
• Proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
• Must be proficient in Epic EMR system
• Must arrive Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
• Maintain safe environment and comply with all policies and procedures
