Opportunity:

RN - Neuro Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 weekend shifts required per 8 weeks
• Holidays worked into permanent holiday rotation based on unit coverage
• 1:4 patient ratio on a 32-bed Neuro Telemetry unit
• 2 years of nursing experience required; neuro experience highly preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin drips
• Must be able to interpret EKGs with central monitoring telemetry
• Charge nurse responsibilities included with light patient assignment
• First to float to MS/Tele floors, possibly to additional campus locations
• Common diagnoses include CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, psychiatric issues, brain tumors, and trached patients
• Average length of stay is 4-5 days on a fast-paced, high-turnaround unit with bedside report
• 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Must complete Day 1 SIMs Lab including Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion (pass/fail)
• EMR system: Cerner with WOWs
• Scrub color: Steel gray
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Must have own personal vehicle
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)

Facility:

This acute care facility operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center, providing comprehensive medical services across multiple campuses. The facility features a dedicated Neuro Telemetry unit with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support, as well as a SWAT RN team available for difficult IV placements. The organization maintains high clinical standards and utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical records system throughout its campuses.
