Opportunity:

RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

• Work 3 shifts per week on the Labor and Delivery unit
• Must work 1-2 days or evenings during winter holidays if scheduled during that period
• Patient ratios: 1:1-2 for laboring patients, 1:2-3 for antepartum patients, 1:1 for cesarean sections and PACU
• Unit staffing includes an OB tech for scrubbing cesarean sections and assisting with vaginal deliveries, 1 dedicated charge nurse, and 1 unit secretary from 0700-2300
• Documentation systems used: Meditech and Centricity
• Perform cervical exams, IUPC and FSE placement, vaginal deliveries, IV starts with lab draws, and circulate and recover cesarean sections
• Float to Mother Baby unit occasionally; will not float to any other department
• Must wear black, grey, or pink solid-colored scrubs only - no patterns, sweatshirts, or t-shirts
• Minimum 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience required, with 1 or more completed travel contracts preferred
• Required certifications: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring, NRP, ACLS, BLS

Facility:

This community hospital Labor and Delivery unit features 9 labor rooms, 6 triage rooms, 3 antepartum rooms, and 3 operating rooms, with a monthly birth volume of 200+ deliveries. The facility recently completed extensive renovations to its labor and delivery and mother-baby units, including the addition of six new state-of-the-art mother-baby rooms. The unit collaborates with a laborist program providing 24-hour coverage by both an MD and a CNM, along with dedicated anesthesia providers around the clock. The team utilizes advanced tools including the Jada, fetal pillow, and Cook's catheters, and is proud to be the first hospital in the area to offer nitrous oxide therapy for pain management alongside epidural analgesia.
