Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement (Nights: Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Holidays rotate with permanent staff
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Combined ICU and Medical/Surgical unit with 4 ICU beds and 19 Medical beds
• Patient ratios: MedSurg 1:5, Pediatric 1:4 (ages 4-17), PCU 1:3-4, ICU 1:1 or 1:2
• Must be able to take full Med/Surg assignments in rotation and float down from ICU
• Manage ventilated patients and those in respiratory distress; common diagnoses include STEMI, stable stroke with TPA, orthopedic, abdominal surgery, and infectious disease cases
• Required to titrate all critical drips including sedation, vasoactive medications, and paralytics
• Must be able to read and interpret own telemetry; virtual monitor tech available via Vocera
• Respiratory therapy staff in house 24/7 to manage vent, BiPap, and CPAP settings
• Charge Nurse and/or Hospital Resource Nurse on every shift; SWAT RNs available for PICC/midline/IV needs
• Virtual ICU nurses and cameras in every room
• 2 years of ICU experience required with ability to take full MedSurg assignments
• Strong vent management knowledge required
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required
• Strong autonomy and communication skills required
• Charting system: EPIC
• Any color professional scrubs permitted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, ENPC or PALS
• Primary location with float requirement throughout Region II facilities; additional $20/hour when floated to non-primary facility within Region II
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
