RN - PCU/CVU

Job Details:

• Day shift position in an acute care setting
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4
• Nurse aide support available with a 1:12 ratio
• Charge nurse carries no patient assignment
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
• Minimum of six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
• Holiday shifts required
• Floating requirements determined by nurse manager; may float within Zone 1 facilities as needed
• First to float designation applies
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments
• Care for cardiac, respiratory compromise, and post-procedure recovery patients on a 36-bed unit
• Must be able to manage non-invasive respiratory support including BiPAP, heated high-flow, and CPAP
• Must be able to titrate drips including cardiac, antihypertensive, metabolic, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia drips per IMC titratable meds policy
• Chest tube management experience required
• Respiratory therapy equipment includes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices
• Telemetry monitor system is GE; rhythm strips verified by RN though read by monitor tech
• Rhythm strips are paper-based and do not interface with EPIC
• Charting system is EPIC
• Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• Must be within 60 miles of facility; valid driver's license must be submitted
• Must be in state for week of orientation

This acute care facility operates a 36-bed cardiovascular unit providing specialized care for cardiac, respiratory, and post-procedure recovery patients. The unit is equipped with advanced telemetry monitoring technology and respiratory therapy equipment to support a high level of patient care. The facility utilizes EPIC as its charting system and provides a collaborative nursing environment with dedicated monitor technicians and nurse aide support.
