Requirements:

• Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• RNC-NIC certification preferred
• 1+ years of NICU experience required
• Experience with high-risk neonates, ventilator management, and isolette/warmer care

Duties:

• Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and premature neonates requiring intensive monitoring and support
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in neonatal condition, escalating care as needed
• Administer medications and titratable drips per physician orders, accounting for precise neonatal dosing
• Manage and monitor advanced life support equipment (ventilators, CPAP, umbilical lines, isolettes/warmers)
• Support thermoregulation, feeding, and developmental care needs specific to premature and high-risk infants
• Collaborate with neonatologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
• Perform rapid response and resuscitation interventions as needed
• Educate and support parents/families on infant condition, treatment plan, and care needs, including kangaroo care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient response in the EMR
• Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed for high-acuity, immunocompromised neonates
