Description

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
ARRT certification in MRI (ARRT-MR) required, or ARRT (R) with MRI eligibility per facility policy
State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
BLS certification required
1+ years of MRI experience preferred (varies by facility)
IV certification/venipuncture skills often required

Duties:

Perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams per physician orders, selecting appropriate protocols for diagnostic quality
Screen patients and staff for MRI safety, identifying contraindications (implants, devices, metal, pregnancy)
Prepare and administer contrast media as ordered, monitoring for adverse reactions
Position patients accurately and operate MRI equipment/coils to optimize image quality
Maintain strict adherence to MRI safety zones and protocols to prevent injury
Document exams and maintain accurate records in RIS/PACS systems
Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians on imaging findings and protocol needs
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with service engineers as needed
