Description

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology
Relevant certification required — RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist), ARRT (R)
BLS and ACLS certification required
State license as applicable (RT)
1+ years of cath lab experience required
Ability to respond to emergent/on-call cases (cath lab roles often require call coverage)

Duties:

Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures, including diagnostic angiograms, PCI/stent placements, and pacemaker/device implants
Operate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring equipment during procedures
Prepare and set up sterile fields, instruments, and supplies for cath lab cases
Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout procedures, alerting the team to changes
Administer contrast media and medications per physician orders and protocol
Scrub, circulate, and/or monitor roles as needed during procedures
Ensure radiation safety practices are followed for patients and staff
Accurately document procedures, supplies used, and patient data in the medical record
Assist with post-procedure patient care, including sheath removal and site management (per scope/facility policy)
