Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Shelby, North Carolina (NC 28150)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Unit: Medical/Surgical & Telemetry (32 beds)
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: December 27, 2025
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (6:30am – 7:00pm)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays required
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Free Parking Available
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1470–$1570 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 18 months of recent Medical/Surgical or Telemetry RN experience
• Proficient in Med/Tele nursing skills: cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), wound care, drain/tube management, PIV starts, central line management
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to adults with diverse diagnoses, including stroke, respiratory illnesses (flu, pneumonia, COVID-19), renal failure, peritoneal dialysis, and wound management
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 for optimal care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team: CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
• Utilize Epic EMR and advanced unit technology, including virtual nursing cameras
• Manage admissions, discharges, medication administration, and continuous patient monitoring
• Foster a positive, patient-centered unit culture focused on teamwork and professional growth
