Travel Nurse Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel RN
• Location: Aurora, Colorado 80045 (Denver metro area)
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• End Date: March 2, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (days: 07:00–19:30; nights: 19:00–07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Unit: Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU), 24 beds
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2040 - $2100

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU, CTICU, or critical care nursing experience
• Active Colorado RN license or Compact State RN license
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Ability to float to similar critical care units as needed
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a 24-bed CTICU
• Manage post-operative patients following open-heart surgery, ventricular assist device placement, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, and other advanced procedures
• Administer and titrate vasoactive medications, ensuring complete cardiopulmonary support
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, arterial blood gases, and hemodynamic parameters
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver holistic patient care and achieve optimal outcomes
• Float to other critical care units as required by facility needs
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
• Participate in ongoing education and provide support to patients and families
