Travel Nurse Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel RN
- Location: Aurora, Colorado 80045 (Denver metro area)
- Start Date: December 1, 2025
- End Date: March 2, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (days: 07:00–19:30; nights: 19:00–07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Unit: Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU), 24 beds
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2040 - $2100
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU, CTICU, or critical care nursing experience
- Active Colorado RN license or Compact State RN license
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with Epic charting preferred
- Trauma Level II hospital experience required
- Ability to float to similar critical care units as needed
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
CVICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a 24-bed CTICU
- Manage post-operative patients following open-heart surgery, ventricular assist device placement, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, and other advanced procedures
- Administer and titrate vasoactive medications, ensuring complete cardiopulmonary support
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, arterial blood gases, and hemodynamic parameters
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver holistic patient care and achieve optimal outcomes
- Float to other critical care units as required by facility needs
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
- Participate in ongoing education and provide support to patients and families
