PCU RN Job Details

Location: Savannah, GA 31419 (Savannah healthcare jobs)
Setting: Acute Care – Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown)
Contract Duration: 14 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)
Shift: 12-hour night shifts
Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,720 - $1,840
Self-Scheduling: Available
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Yes
Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Stepdown nursing experience in a hospital setting
Completion of at least 1 travel nursing contract
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or compact state
BLS certification required
Telemetry nursing experience required

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, heart failure, and other stepdown diagnoses
Monitor and manage patients on set-rate drips
Collaborate with charge nurses, nurse aides, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Utilize respiratory therapy equipment including nasal and face masks, BiPAP
Document patient care using MEDITECH 6.1 electronic charting system
Participate in comprehensive orientation with computer skills training and preceptor-led shifts
Maintain compliance with unit policies and dress code standards
