• Location: Lafayette, Indiana (47905) – Indiana nursing jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
• Unit: Mixed Acuity PCU (Medical/Surgical, Oncology, Stroke, Cardiac, GI, Pulmonary)
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (18:00 – 06:30)
• Shifts per Week: 3x12 or 4x12 (36-48 hours/week)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/13/2026 – End: 4/14/2026)
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Charting System: Cerner
• Free Parking

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana state, compact, or temporary license)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, MS/Tele, or acute care nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Strong neuro nursing experience
• Proficiency with cardiac drips and procedures: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Insulin, post-heart cath, post-pacemaker
• Ability to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two supervisor references required
• Travel nurses only (local candidates not accepted)

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in a mixed acuity PCU environment
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Insulin, etc.)
• Care for post-cardiac cath and post-pacemaker patients
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Respond to unstable stroke and BiPap patients
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage central/peripheral lines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
• Accurately document patient care in Cerner EMR
• Float to other nursing units as needed
• Work scheduled weekends and holidays
