Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in Med/Surg or Extended Recovery (medical-surgical nurse experience preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (compact or state license as required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient monitoring skills
• Excellent communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary teamwork abilities

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg Extended Recovery unit (post-operative and post-procedural recovery)
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status, vital signs, and recovery progress
• Administer medications, IV therapy, treatments, and interventions as ordered
• Coordinate care and collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, rehabilitation therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide patient and family education on recovery plans, discharge instructions, wound care, and follow-up needs
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
