Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: CT Tech
  • Shift: 5x8 Night shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday block)
  • Weekend: Every other weekend
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
  • License: Must have a valid New York State license in hand (no exceptions)
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Charting System: Must have experience with EPIC
  • First Time Traveler: Accepted
  • Locals: Must live within a 75-mile radius

  • Total Staffed Beds: 528
  • Scrub Color: Any combination of navy and white

Required Documents and Compliance

Identification & Background

  • Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • 7-year Criminal Background Check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, updated monthly
  • Education verification from primary source (no hard copy degrees)
  • Foreign equivalency education evaluation if applicable
  • Transcript/Diploma if education verification is not on file

Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider/instructor/RQI acceptable as required
  • BLS - AHA provider/instructor/RQI acceptable
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) as required
  • National Tech Certification verification within 30 days of start if applicable
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
  • State License Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS Verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days if applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification as required, updated annually

Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as required
  • Color Blind Testing (one-time requirement)
  • Competency Exam as required by specialty

Facility Specific

  • Passport-style photo for badge
  • Completion of facility-specific modules and attestations prior to start

Health Requirements (Must be completed within 5 days of contract signing)

  • Physical Exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Fit Mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
  • TB Questionnaire (in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
  • Immunizations or titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Drug Testing (within 30 days of start if booked within 30 days)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination (during flu season)
  • Eye Exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Employment History & References

  • Employment Application required
  • Skills Checklist required annually
  • Work History Verification (at least 2 past employments for direct hires)
  • References (2 within 3 years, required for direct hires only)

State-Specific Requirements (New York)

  • NYS Nurse Aide Registry (if applicable) within 3 months of start
  • NYS Criminal Background Check Fingerprint Results (for certain units)
  • Disciplinary Action Search Results (for certain units)
  • Sex Offender Registry Search within 30 days of start
  • NY Medicaid Exclusion List check within 3 months of start, updated monthly

This position requires strict adherence to licensing, certification, background checks, and health compliance to ensure readiness for assignment at a tertiary care hospital.
