Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Summary

Urgently seeking a CT Technologist to perform both CT scans and X-rays in a specialty orthopedic hospital setting. This is a dual-modality role requiring operation of Siemens equipment. The position includes a training period followed by a regular work schedule.


Schedule

  • Training (First 2 weeks): Tuesday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Regular Schedule: Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 2:30 PM – Midnight (4x9s with 30-minute lunch)

Caseload & Patient Population

  • Up to 20 patients daily
  • Patient age groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Orthopedic exams in exam rooms or via portable equipment
  • Patient types: Inpatients and outpatients

  • Outpatient
  • Inpatient
  • Emergency Room (ER)
  • Adult ICU

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology specialty
  • Experience operating Siemens imaging equipment
  • Experience with portable imaging equipment
  • X-ray procedures: Extremities, Spine/Pelvis, Head, Chest/Thorax, Musculoskeletal, Lower and Upper Extremities
  • CT procedures: Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Chest, Spine, Musculoskeletal, Brain Perfusion, CT Angiography (CTAs), Multiplanar Reconstruction
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move patients and equipment over 150 pounds (with or without assistive devices)

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • ARRT Radiography (R) Certification
  • ARRT CT Certification
  • New York State License (hard copy with green border, signed)
  • IV Certification (required)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • DOHNYS (Department of Health New York State)
  • Epic system experience preferred

Prior Travel Experience

  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Additional Requirements

  • Must have experience with Siemens equipment
  • Scrubs color: Charcoal Grey

Background & Compliance Checks

  • Criminal background check (7-year search including Social Security Trace, NY State, County, Nationwide, and international if applicable)
  • Education verification (High School/GED minimum for allied health; associate degree or higher preferred)
  • SAM, OIG, EPLS checks within 30 days of start
  • Foreign equivalency evaluation if educated outside the US and degree verification is problematic
  • Drug screen (Aya standard 9-panel within 1 year)
  • References: 2 manager/supervisor references required (charge nurse references generally not accepted)
  • Employment and work history verification (up to 7 years)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, updated annually
  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Titers/vaccinations for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption by November 1
  • OSHA and HIPAA training and acknowledgements

Competency & Training Exams

  • Unit-specific competency exams (Relias platform)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
  • Color blindness test (must score 100%)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail, time sensitive, not required for allied travelers)
  • Core training modules (Parts I, II, III) and OSHA mandatory training, updated annually
  • Harassment prevention training (New York specific)

Facility Specific Documents & Policies

  • Photo for badge (color, plain white/light background, recent, no filters)
  • Signed acknowledgements for:
    • Privacy, Information Security & Confidentiality
    • Drug-Free Workplace Policy
    • Intellectual Property Agreement
    • Quality, Regulatory, and Safety Practices
    • New Beginnings Packet (includes Staff Handbook and Code of Conduct)
    • Avoiding Workplace Harassment
    • Occupational Health Attestation
    • Travel Policy
  • Onboarding and continuing education modules to be completed within 30 days of start and as required annually
