Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Massachusetts (Salem)

Position Details

• Specialty: RN ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Location: Salem, Massachusetts
• Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights & Every Other Weekend (EOW), 36 hours per week
• Unit: 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU)
• Patient Population: Adult patients with conditions such as Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory failure, Cardiac arrest, Renal failure, DKA, and cardiogenic shock
• RN to Patient Ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients
• EMR System: EPIC

Experience Requirements

• ICU RN Experience: Minimum 3+ years ICU RN experience required
• Continuous Experience: At least 2+ years continuous work experience in one location, preferably MICU
• Rapid Response Team: Experience on Rapid Response Team required
• Skills: Must be able to read telemetry strips
• Floating: Required for day rotators
• Shift Rotation: Day rotators may rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a shifts; night shift does not rotate

Licensure & Certifications

• License: Active Massachusetts RN License (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (American Heart Association only)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association only)

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Fit Test: N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no religious exemptions)
• Immunizations & Health:

  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
  • TB test within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
  • Hepatitis B vaccination strongly preferred
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date
  • Tdap vaccine preferred within last 10 years
• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually
• Testing & Exams:

  • Medication exam (80% passing within 365 days)
  • Advanced dysrhythmia exam (80% passing)
• References: Two recent references required, including at least one supervisor or above in skillset
• Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state details
• Skills Checklist: Required for submission
• Respirator Medical Clearance: Required if fit test is required

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Night shift does not rotate; day shift rotators must be flexible with shift changes.
• Floating is required for day rotators.

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with strong critical care skills, rapid response team experience, and the ability to work night shifts in a high-acuity environment.
