Description

Job Opportunity: CT Technologist

Location: Chelsea, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Operate CT scanners following physician orders and protocols to produce detailed diagnostic and interventional scans of patients' head and body.
  • Perform patient care tasks including assisting patients on/off the scanner, verifying patient identification, entering patient information, and ensuring proper archiving of files.
  • Maintain department facilities and stay updated on outpatient procedures and policies.
  • Adjust scanner and injector settings for exams, perform imaging according to protocols or Radiologist requests, and ensure correct labeling and transmission of images to PACS.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, considering their physical, emotional, and language needs to ensure compliance and understanding.

Required Credentials & Certifications

  • ARRT or NMTCB registration in Radiography and Computed Tomography.
  • Applicable state licensure(s) in Radiography (Massachusetts Conditional Licenses NOT accepted).
  • BLS certification (AHA preferred).
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions allowed.
  • Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
  • Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity.
  • TB test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if there is a >6 month break.
  • Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
  • Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, National Sex Offender Check, and exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid).
  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset).
  • Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission.

Preferred / Optional

  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity preferred.
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred.
  • Positive PPD with negative chest x-ray documentation if applicable.
