Position Overview

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)

• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend

• Float Requirements: Yes

Unit & Patient Information

• Unit: Behavioral Health, all floors
• Number of Beds: 104 beds across five units (adult, pediatric, geriatric)
• Patient Population: Geriatric, pediatric (ages 5-17), and adults
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:8 (lower ratios for geriatric and pediatric units)
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, anxiety
• Equipment: None specified
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience in inpatient psychiatric/behavioral health setting (higher experience requirement takes precedence)
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Must be willing to work with both adult and pediatric populations

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include planning and delivering direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation)
• Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, supervisors, and team members
• Participate in discharge planning
• Dress Code: Blue scrubs
