Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Rochester, New York
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Job Details

  • Work Days/Hours: Tuesday–Friday, 07:00–17:30
  • Unit: Special Procedures / Stroke Center
  • Procedures: Interventional procedures including drains and biopsies
  • Equipment: Philips equipment, Medrad injector, GE, PACS, Siemens, Toshiba
  • Skills Required:
    • Adult Acute Care and Adult Outpatient imaging
    • Abdomen, Pelvis, Chest, Head imaging with and without contrast
    • Isolation Precautions/PPE
    • Preparation and administration of contrast media
    • Starting Peripheral IVs
    • Imaging of Cervical, Lumbar, Musculoskeletal trauma, Thoracic areas
  • Call Requirement: Must be willing to take call two weekends per month
  • Locals: No local candidates within 50 miles accepted
  • Pending License: Not accepted
  • RTO Restrictions: Maximum 1 week of RTO allowed during contract
  • Holiday Work: If a holiday falls on a scheduled workday, traveler is expected to work
  • Scrubs: Provided or can wear own

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a CT Tech (highest required years of experience)
  • ARRT (R) certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • EPIC experience required
  • Preferred: Experience with Philips equipment and interventional procedures including drains and biopsies
  • Prior travel experience: Not required (1st time travelers accepted)

Certifications & Compliance

  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM certifications as required by unit description
  • NIH Stroke Certification required for all RNs except birthing units & OR (if applicable)
  • Tech Certification Verification (national) required within 30 days of start
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
  • State License Primary Source Verification required within 30 days of start

Background & Screening Requirements

  • Government Issued Photo ID required
  • 7-year Criminal Background Check within 3 months of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and run monthly
  • Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation if applicable
  • Education Verification from primary source required
  • Drug Screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
  • References: 2 references within 3 years of start required (Aya candidates only)
  • Employment Application and Work History Verification required

Health & Immunization Requirements

Candidate must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing contract:

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Fit Mask (N95) test within 1 year, with acceptable alternatives if failed
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year
  • TB Questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test renewal
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (Surface AB positive titer or completed series)
    • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
  • Snellen Eye Exam within 1 year of start
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Notes

  • Must be willing to work holidays if they fall on scheduled workdays
  • No local candidates within 50 miles accepted
  • Contract allows no more than 1 week of RTO (Return to Office)
  • Scrubs provided or option to wear own

This position is ideal for CT Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, comfortable with interventional procedures and working in a stroke center environment, who are open to travel assignments and flexible scheduling including weekend call.
