Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Maryville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have active RN license in Tennessee
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
• Floating to other units required based on skill set
• Weekend coverage and call required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Must have at least 1 year of EPIC experience
• Special procedures include: triage assessments, inductions, cesareans, external versions, NSTs, circumcisions, newborn resuscitation/stabilization, magnesium sulfate administration
• No first-time travelers; must have at least 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
• Required certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
  • Lactation Certificate
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic (minimum 1 year)

Orientation and Training

• Online modules (~12 hours) must be completed within 72 hours of assignment
• Pass/fail testing (medication and arrhythmia exams) required prior to start
• Floating policy acknowledgment required (except for some locations)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background check: 7-year history, including aliases and all states/counties lived/worked in last 7 years
• Drug screening: 5-panel within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Negative TB test (True 2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Tspot) within 90 days of start
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in high-risk areas)
  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption (not required for 100% remote)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity documentation (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
• Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation
• Photo for badge required (passport-style, specific background and quality requirements)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be prepared for floating assignments within skill set
• Must be able to work weekends and be on call
• Must have completed at least one prior travel contract (no first-time travelers)

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with travel experience looking for a 13-week contract in Tennessee.
