Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: New York, NY

Job Description

  • Perform both CT Scans and X-Rays in a specialty orthopedic hospital setting.
  • Dual-modality role requiring ARRT Radiography (R) and CT certifications.
  • Work schedule:
    • Training: First 2 weeks, Tuesday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 6 PM
    • Regular: Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 2:30 PM to Midnight (4x9s with 30-minute lunch)
  • Daily caseload: Up to 20 patients
  • Patient age groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
  • Caseload involves orthopedic exams in exam rooms or via portable equipment.
  • May rotate across multiple departments within the hospital or private sector locations nearby.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Valid CT Technologist license in New York
  • Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
  • IV Certification
  • ARRT Radiography (R) and CT Certifications
  • Experience working with Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients
  • Experience in both Outpatient and Inpatient settings
  • X-ray procedure experience including Extremities, Spine/Pelvis, Head, and Chest/Thorax

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • ARRT Radiography (R) Certification.
  • ARRT CT Certification.
  • New York State (NYS) Radiology License.
  • IV Certification (required).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only.
  • DOH New York State certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move patients and equipment over 150 pounds, with or without assistive devices.

Prior Travel Experience

  • First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required).

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including social security trace, state and county searches, sex offender database, and nationwide search.
  • Education verification required (high school/GED minimum for allied health; associate degree or higher preferred).
  • Drug screen (Aya standard 9-panel) required within 1 year of start.
  • Various state-specific and federal exclusion list checks required.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year, updated annually.
  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year.
  • Titers or vaccination documentation for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.

Orientation & Training

  • Initial 2-week training period with adjusted schedule.
  • Various competency exams and mandatory trainings required, including:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam.
    • Color blindness test (must score 100%).
    • Unit-specific competency exams.
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (not required for allied/tech staff).
    • Core training modules (annual updates).
    • OSHA mandatory training.
    • New York harassment prevention training.

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Photo for badge (color, plain background, recent).
  • Signed acknowledgments for privacy, confidentiality, drug-free workplace, intellectual property, quality and safety practices, and code of conduct.
  • Completion of onboarding and continued education modules within 30 days of start.
  • Establishment of system username and password prior to orientation.

Additional Notes

  • Scrubs color: Charcoal Grey.
  • The position aims for a target start date around March 2, 2026 (or sooner).
