Job Title

ICU RN Day Rotate and Every Other Weekend (EOW) - 36 hours

Unit & Patient Population

• Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), 20-bed unit
• Level III Trauma Center ICU with Medical/Surgical floating required
• Patient diagnoses include Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, Cardiogenic Shock
• Attendings and Residents present 24/7

Work Schedule & Shifts

• Rotating day shifts ("Day Rotate") between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a as needed
• Night shift is fixed, no rotation
• Every Other Weekend (EOW) coverage required
• 36 hours per week

Staffing Ratios

• ICU RN to patient ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients
• Floating to Med/Surg units: 1:4 or 1:5

Floating Requirements

• Floating primarily to Medical/Surgical units with up to 4-5 patients
• Telemetry competency required (must be able to read tele strips)

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of continuous Adult ICU experience, preferably in MICU
• Experience must be continuous in one location

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license
• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS (American Heart Association only)

Additional Required Certifications & Compliance

• N95 Fit Test within 1 year of start date, updated annually
• MMR vaccination or immunity proof
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 15), no exemptions allowed
• TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
• Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 1 year
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
• Criminal background checks including CORI, SSN trace, National Sex Offender Registry, and exclusion checks required within 45 days of start date
• Documentation of education verification and professional references required
• Medication and Advanced Dysrhythmia exams with 80% passing score required within 1 year
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit test is needed
