Title: Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) – Laboratory Services
Location: Baltimore, MD
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 5x8-Hour (06:30–15:00), Monday–Friday

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform testing and analysis across all laboratory disciplines including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, blood bank, microbiology, and immunology/serology

• Conduct blood bank procedures including ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening and identification, crossmatching, antigen typing, and transfusion reaction workup

• Prepare and process specimens, accession samples, and ensure proper labeling, storage, and transport

• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation including ACL TOP, Beckman analyzers, Iris Cell, and Sysmex XM

• Perform quality control, review results, and ensure compliance with laboratory standards and safety protocols

• Analyze patient samples for a wide range of tests including cardiac enzymes, hormones, thyroid panels, urinalysis, CBCs, coagulation studies, and rapid microbiology tests

• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of test results in Cerner

• Work independently as a generalist MLS while providing support across multiple laboratory departments

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Lab Scientist experience

• Hands-on blood bank experience required

• Experience in hospital clinical laboratory settings preferred

• Strong independent work skills and proficiency across multiple laboratory areas

• Familiarity with laboratory quality assurance, specimen handling, and hazardous material safety

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• ASCP-MLS (required)

• BLS – American Heart Association (preferred)
