Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Emergency Department

Dayton Children's Hospital | Dayton, OH

Dayton Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on the night shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM). This role is ideal for RNs with strong pediatric ED experience who thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity environments and are flexible with floating across multiple units.

Assignment Details
  • Start Date: January 19, 2026

  • Duration: 13 weeks

  • Shift: Night shift, 5x8s (11p–7a)

  • Unit: Emergency Department

  • Location: Dayton, Ohio

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, patient- and family-centered nursing care in the Pediatric Emergency Department

  • Perform thorough assessments and deliver care based on patient acuity and hospital standards

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes

  • Float as needed across ED locations (Main ED, South ED, Mental Health Crisis Center) and inpatient pediatric units including Med/Surg, PICU, NICU, and Transitional Care

  • Manage a patient assignment of 1–4 patients depending on unit and acuity

Required Qualifications
  • BSN required

  • Active Ohio RN license or Compact license in hand

  • CPR and PALS certifications required

  • Pediatric nursing experience required

  • Preferred: 2 years of Pediatric Emergency Department experience
