Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (Pediatric ED)
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Shift: Night Shift | 3×12-Hour Shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
Schedule: Every other weekend and some holidays required

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Night Shift Registered Nurses for a Pediatric Emergency Department. Candidates must have the majority of their recent experience in a Pediatric ED setting. Adult ED experience is a plus; however, candidates with experience only in combined Adult/Pediatric EDs will not be considered.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of recent (within the past 2 years) Pediatric Emergency Department experience

• Strong triage skills with formal triage training

• Experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers preferred

• Ability to function independently with minimal orientation in a high-acuity setting

• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records

• Prior experience in large acute-care hospitals or trauma centers

Licensure & Certifications

• Current New York State RN License

• BLS certification (must be current or able to recertify)

Traveler Requirements

• Travelers must have experience in hospitals of equal or greater size and/or trauma centers

• Pediatric ED experience is mandatory for consideration

Additional Requirements

• Must have no history of professional license or certification suspension or investigation

• Must not have been named as a defendant in a professional liability claim

• Verification of legal right to work in the United States

• Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance

• Subject to drug screening and criminal background check

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care in a high-acuity Pediatric ED

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and interventions appropriate to emergency care

• Manage patient care responsibilities with minimal supervision

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary emergency care teams
