Description

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Watertown, New York 13601
Assignment Length: 6 Weeks (ASAP Start)
Shift: Night Shift – 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist for a short-term night shift assignment. The therapist will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and critical conditions, utilizing advanced clinical knowledge and ventilator management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
Initiate and manage ventilator settings using advanced principles of volume, flow, pressure, and time relationships
Apply knowledge of acid-base balance and electrolyte disturbances in critical situations
Provide airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medication treatments
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Document patient care and ventilator adjustments accurately and timely

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care program
New York State Respiratory Therapist license
CRT and RRT credentials through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Current BLS certification

Preferred Certifications

ACLS, PALS, and NRP

Additional Requirements

Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility
Availability for immediate start
