Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR)
Facility: University of Tennessee Medical Center
Location: 1924 Alcoa Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920
Start Date: ASAP (5/18/2026)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (06:30 AM – 05:00 PM)
Schedule: 4x10-Hour (Mon–Fri, rotating day off)
Note: OR Circulating RN | All service lines except CV, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedics | On-call required (minimal)

Position Overview:
The OR Registered Nurse provides perioperative care as a circulating nurse, ensuring patient safety and coordination throughout surgical procedures across multiple service lines in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Job Duties:

Perform circulating RN duties during surgical procedures
Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environment
Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical team
Monitor patient status throughout procedures
Ensure proper documentation and adherence to protocols
Assist with patient positioning, safety checks, and equipment setup
Participate in on-call rotation and late stays as needed

Requirements:
Licensure: Active RN License (State of Tennessee)
Experience:

Minimum 2 years OR circulating experience required
Experience across multiple surgical service lines preferred

Certifications:

BLS – Required
ACLS – Preferred

Other Requirements:

Ability to work across various surgical specialties (excluding CV, Neuro, Ortho)
On-call required (2–3 times/month, including minimal weekend call)
First-time travelers not preferred but considered with strong experience
No block scheduling
