Description
CT Technologist — Travel Contract
Location: Washington, DC
Shift: Day Shift — 12 Hours
Duration: 13 Weeks (Typical Travel Assignment)
Candidate Requirement: Must live 50 miles away (No Local Candidates)
Position Summary
The CT Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using Computed Tomography (CT) and radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images for patient diagnosis and treatment. The technologist ensures patient safety, maintains radiation protection standards, and supports physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Computed Tomography (CT) and radiographic imaging equipment.
- Analyze patient body habitus and adjust technical imaging factors accordingly.
- Properly position patients to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
- Review physician orders and obtain relevant clinical information prior to exams.
- Produce high-quality radiographs while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Assist physicians during procedures including:
- Room preparation
- Equipment setup
- Contrast administration monitoring
- Managing contrast reactions and emergency codes
- Schedule and complete imaging examinations efficiently.
- Accurately document procedures and enter correct charge codes.
- Maintain compliance with hospital safety, infection control, and imaging protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience required.
- Trauma and Stroke imaging experience required.
- Associate's Degree or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology Program.
Certifications & Licensure
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification — Required
- Current Washington, DC State/District License — Required
- BLS Certification (AHA) — Required
Additional Skills
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced acute care environments.
- Experience assisting in emergency and critical imaging situations preferred.
