Description
Radiologic Technologist – CT Tech
Location: Jackson, MI 49201
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3x12 Nights
Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on Facility Requirements
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, performs computerized tomography (CT) procedures on patients and may perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and compliance with facility standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of hospital-based CT experience
- Associate Degree in Applied Science in Radiology
- High School Diploma or GED
- ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist
- ARRT Advanced Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) or CT Registry Eligible
- Current BLS Certification
- Peripheral IV insertion experience or willingness to obtain training
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform CT scans according to physician orders and established protocols
- Review patient history and requisitions to determine appropriate imaging procedures
- Explain procedures and prepare patients for examinations
- Operate CT equipment and ensure quality diagnostic imaging
- Administer IV contrast media, including use of power injectors
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide immediate care when necessary
- Assist radiologists with sterile procedures, including biopsies
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles
- Maintain image quality and resolve PACS image exceptions
- Complete study documentation in RIS and medical records
- Prepare procedure rooms and maintain supplies
- Transport patients to and from the Emergency Department as needed
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care
Physical Requirements:
- May work in hospital-based or mobile imaging environments
- May be exposed to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and contagious patients
- Ability to lift and/or move patients and equipment exceeding 10 pounds as required
