Available Shifts: Days 5x7.5 hours
- 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (1 Position)
- 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1 Position)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Radiology Department. The RN will provide safe, high-quality patient care for individuals undergoing diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology procedures, including MRI, CT, PET, Mammography, and Ultrasound. This position requires strong IV skills, outpatient nursing experience, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced radiology setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing radiology and diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
- Initiate and maintain IV access for contrast administration and procedures.
- Perform Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) as required.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after imaging procedures.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection prevention protocols.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EPIC.
- Support patient throughput while maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold evidence-based nursing practices.
- Assist with inventory management and resource utilization as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Current AHA BLS Certification.
- Current AHA ACLS Certification.
- Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of ambulatory/outpatient nursing experience.
- Experience with IV insertion and Point-of-Care Testing (POCT).
- Radiology nursing experience.
- Knowledge of radiation safety principles.
- EPIC electronic medical record experience preferred.
Additional Information
- Assignment is to support increased patient volume and provide IV/procedural coverage for MRI, CT, PET, Mammography, and Ultrasound services.
- No on-call requirement.
