Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU/MSDU)

Unit: MSDU (Medical Step-Down Unit)

Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights, 4 × 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Weekly Hours: 48 Hours

Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)/Medical Step-Down

Primary Diagnoses: Medical patients with a strong pulmonary focus

Requirements

Experience: Minimum 1 year required (2 years preferred in job requirements)
Travel Experience: Accepted; first-time travelers are welcome
State License: Active New York RN License required at submission (No Exceptions)
EMR: Epic experience is mandatory
Required Certifications:
- BLS
- NIHSS
Preferred Certification:
- ACLS
Charge Nurse Experience: Preferred

Submission Guidelines

Must live more than 75 miles from the facility (locals are not accepted)
Maximum RTO: 10 days
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: Required to ICU or Medical-Surgical units
Return Traveler Eligibility: 6 months system-wide
COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
Flu Vaccine: Unknown

Patient Ratios

Days: 1:3
Nights: 1:4
Must be comfortable taking Med-Surg assignments up to a 1:5–1:7 ratio when needed.
