RN – Operating Room (OR)
Location: 99 Beauvoir Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901
Facility: Overlook Medical Center
Department: Operating Room
Contract: 10/19/2026 (8 weeks assignment)
Schedule: Days 4 x 9.50 hours/week
Shift start time : 7:00 AM

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe and comprehensive perioperative care to surgical patients throughout the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative continuum.

Responsibilities:

Perform thorough and accurate patient assessments.
Provide competent nursing care to surgical patients based on procedure and anesthesia type.
Support the perioperative team and prioritize patient care according to clinical needs.
Perform pre-operative and post-operative assessments and patient education.
Operate and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records.
Follow National Patient Safety Goals, Universal Protocol, and patient identification procedures.
Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and promote patient and family satisfaction.
Demonstrate knowledge of surgical conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment.
Evaluate and support Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) requirements when applicable.

Requirements:

Current RN license – Required
BLS certification – Required
Minimum 1 year of RN experience – Required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
CNOR certification – Preferred
Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing and surgical procedures
Excellent patient assessment, documentation, and clinical skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team
