Travel Contract – Registered Nurse (Stepdown/Trauma Stepdown)

Unit: 5 South – Trauma Stepdown (IMC/PCU)

Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights – 4x12s, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Openings: 2
Weekend: Every other weekend

Compensation

• Base Bill Rate: $75/hr

• 48-hour contract options

Requirements

• 2 years RN experience required

• 1 year Stepdown/PCU/IMC/Trauma experience required

• WV or Compact RN license required; pending WV license may be submitted

• BLS, ACLS, CPI, Fit Test required

• TNCC preferred

• Cerner experience preferred

• Level I Trauma experience preferred

• First-time travelers accepted if experienced in ICU/Trauma

Unit & Patient Population

• Level I Trauma Center and major teaching hospital

• 25 Med/Surg Tele Trauma beds

• 6 Trauma Stepdown beds

• 6 Pediatric Trauma beds — travelers are not required to care for pediatric patients

• Stepdown ratio: 1:3

• Floor ratio: 1:5

• Adult and geriatric patients

• Previous orthopedic/trauma experience preferred

Skills & Experience

Experience with:

• Telemetry and dysrhythmia management

• IV starts, central lines and PICC management

• Chest tubes and wound VACs

• Tracheostomy and PEG/feeding tubes

• Ventilator management

• Trauma and orthopedic patients

• TBI and spinal cord injuries

• Surgical drains

• Rapid response/code team
