Contract: 13 Weeks

Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist:

• Delivers life-support, resuscitation, patient monitoring, and medical gas therapies.

• Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Unit patients.

• Maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments across various business units, as assigned.

• Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees regarding patient care needs.

• Accurately documents all aspects of patient care.

• Supervises, directs, and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, respiratory orients, externs, and students, as assigned.

• Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.

Required Education

• Associate of Science degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Required Certification & Licensure

• Registration with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Michigan.

• BLS certification.
