Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Position Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14626

• Job Duration: 13 Weeks

• Shift: Mid Shift, 4x10 hours (1:00 PM – 11:30 PM)

• Hours per Week: 40 hours

• Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements

• Experience Required: 3 years preferred

• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted

• Local Candidates: Not accepted; must live more than 75 miles from the facility

• Call Requirement: 6 shifts per 8-week time block, including weekends and holidays

• Charting: Epic preferred

• Scrubs: Provided

Required Certification

• CST certification required, unless the candidate worked as a surgical tech in New York before 2015.

Required Skills

• General OR and laparoscopic procedures

• Bariatric, vascular, cardiac/thoracic, ENT, and colorectal procedures

• Orthopedic and spinal surgeries

• Neurological and urological procedures

• Gynecological and breast surgeries

• Robotic surgery, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System

• Aseptic technique, decontamination, and sterilization processes

• Specimen handling, sharps safety, and universal protocol/time-out procedures

• Management or leadership experience is a plus

The department supports 12 surgical service lines, so broad operating room experience is preferred.
