Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR###REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years REQUIREDTraveler Experience: Unit WILL ACCEPT 1st time traveler.Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: YesSkills: IV start, Vents, Telemetry and cpap/bipap, Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias.Certs: ACLS, BLSPREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: Certs: NIHSSJOB DETAILS:Target Ratios: 1:4-5 (Mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients) In extreme situations the unit will go to a 1:6 ratio.*36hrs can be offered.Unit will accept 13 weeks.12-HOUR NIGHTS***RTO 7 DAYS MAX for AYA AUTO OFFER***Float Requirement: required to float to like units.Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks but staffing needs may require more.Patient Population: COPD, PNA, Resp distress, Covid-19, FLU, PE s.***Patient population currently includes care for COVID-19 patients, including those who have tested positive.*** SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Our acuity is on the higher end of a med-surg unit, but we do operate with a team lead present in a 3:1 that rounds the whole unit, 2 respiratory therapists that are rounding, and an assistant nurse manager on shift including weekends. We do take ventilators on our unit but they are for chronic trach/vent patients. Our model is that no nurse has more than one vent patient at a time. Our unit is 48 beds in total. Our CNA s are a 9-10:1. Most of our patient population is going to be COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, and patients with chest tubes, CPAP, BiPAP. Must be able to adhere to Call off policy -STRONGLY ENFORCED. #Tier2 Travel Compliance Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours after signing. All testing must be completed within 48 hours. Submission Process : All units are utilizing Clinical for direct profile review Submission Details : Any previous PERM / PRN / EP staff employee of Novant Health or New Hanover must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler. Please note in the submission packet if your candidate previously worked here, the hospital name and dates of employment. Facility rehire approval is needed. We cannot proceed with any offer until rehire approval is obtained. Failure to disclose this information will negatively impact your candidate and may result in a cancel. Novant runs their own check on each traveler upon hiring, so we need to notify them beforehand. Current travel Per Diem clinicians at Novant Health or New Hanover are ineligible for travel assignments. Working both simultaneously is not accepted. Clinicians must select either travel Per Diem or a Travel Contract. Please indicate in the submission packet if your candidate is currently in a travel Per Diem role at this Health system and if they wish to transition to a Travel Contract.
