Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Neurosurgical/Medical unit. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, particularly in neuro surgical procedures and diagnoses. The selected candidate will work night shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals undergoing neuro surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to urgent care needs.
• Utilize electronic health record systems (EPIC) for documentation and communication.
• Administer medications through Pyxis and ensure accurate medication delivery.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including weekend shifts as per contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or neuro setting.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required; National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of neuro diagnoses and surgical procedures.
• Ability to work in high-stress situations, including the potential for deployment during catastrophic events.

Work Schedule

Shifts are nights, with a 3x12-hour shift pattern (18:45 - 07:15). The RN will be expected to complete 12-16 weekend shifts throughout the contract period.

Additional Information

• Ratios: 1 nurse for every 5-6 patients.
• Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation.
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated based on requests.
• RTO (Request Time Off) is limited to a maximum of 7 days.
• Providers will be assigned to a Storm/Hurricane Team and may be required to work during emergencies.

Attire

Scrubs must be navy in color.
