Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information

Shifts available include day and night options: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Shift assignments will be discussed during the interview process.

Job Description

This position involves working collaboratively with the healthcare team, patients, and families to promote patient health through the delivery of professional nursing care. Responsibilities include adhering to age and condition-appropriate practices as documented in nursing and medical plans of care, following evidence-based standards, and meeting hospital goals, values, and regulatory requirements.

The role will require floating between critical care units, specifically Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in pediatric critical care.
  • Experience in a Level III or IV NICU setting is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a children's care setting is preferred.

Education Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or a Diploma Nursing degree.

Certification and License Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Arizona or a multi-state license with privileges in Arizona.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Current Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Additional Requirements

COVID-19 vaccination is recommended but not mandatory. Influenza vaccination is required from October through April, with exemptions subject to approval.

Holiday coverage may be required.
