Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery
Location: Nantucket, Massachusetts
Facility: Nantucket Cottage Hospital (Mass General Brigham)
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, rotating shifts
- Experience Required: Epic system and postpartum care experience
- Licenses/Certifications Required:
- Massachusetts RN license (no conditional licenses accepted)
- BLS (AHA preferred)
- NRP (AHA preferred)
- Housing: Shared housing provided at no cost
Required Credentials and Compliance
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid MA RN license with primary source verification (NURSYS and Board of Nursing)
- BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross accepted; AHA preferred)
- NRP certification (AHA, Red Cross accepted; AHA preferred)
Training & Checklists
- FEMA ICS 100 Training (must be completed before onboarding)
- Skills Checklist (required for submission)
- Candidate Submission Coversheet (required for submission)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Fit Test for N95 respirator (within 365 days, updated annually)
- MGB Color Vision test (within 365 days)
- MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
- Influenza vaccine (required during flu season: Sept 15 - April 30)
- TB test (skin test or blood test within 3 months, updated if >6 month break)
- Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA (within 365 days, updated if >6 month break)
- Optional but strongly preferred: Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity proof
- Optional: Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
- If positive TB test, documentation of negative chest X-ray required
Background & Compliance Checks
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
- Social Security Number trace (addresses/aliases for past 7 years)
- National Sex Offender Registry check (within 30 days, updated annually)
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days and annually
- Education verification of highest degree achieved
- References: 2 recent references required, at least 1 supervisor or above in skillset
Additional Requirements
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (part of Fit Test documentation)
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form upon acceptance and for any start date changes
- MGB Nantucket Housing Agreement (required if staying in provided housing)
Summary
This is a 13-week long-term RN Labor and Delivery position at Nantucket Cottage Hospital requiring rotating shifts and 36 hours per week. Candidates must have Massachusetts RN licensure, BLS, and NRP certifications, with experience in Epic and postpartum care. Shared housing is provided. Comprehensive health screenings, immunizations, background checks, and training are mandatory prior to onboarding.
