Description

Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Boston, Massachusetts

Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: 36 hours per week, day/night rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years ICU experience
  • Minimum 1 year travel nursing experience

Required Credentials and Compliance

Licenses & Certifications

  • Professional Nursing License: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date. MA Conditional Licenses not accepted. Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required.
  • BLS Certification: Required for onboarding. Acceptable from AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military. Preference for AHA certification.
  • MGB Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state details. Required for submission.
  • MGB Skills Checklist: Required for submission.
  • References: Two recent references required, at least one must be a supervisor or higher in the relevant skillset. Required for submission.
  • Candidate Submission Coversheet: Required for submission.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Fit Test (N95 Respirator): Required within 365 days prior to start and updated annually. Must be completed on the specified form. No religious exemptions.
  • MMR Vaccination or Immunity: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine or two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed.
  • TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date. Updated if there is a break >6 months.
  • Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required. Must be completed prior to fit testing.
  • Hepatitis B Vaccine: Strongly preferred (3 doses or proof of immunity or declination).
  • Tdap Vaccine: Preferred if within last 10 years.
  • Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray: Required if positive TB test.

Background & Professional Checks

  • Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start and updated if >6 month break. Includes county and international searches as applicable.
  • Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start and updated if >6 month break.
  • Education Verification: Verified through background check company; must verify highest level of education achieved.
  • SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check, covering last 7 years of addresses/aliases.
  • National Sex Offender Registry Check: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Exclusion Checks: Within 30 days prior to start and annually. Includes OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists.

Additional Requirements

  • Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required for all initial assignments and extensions, updated if start date changes.

This position requires strict adherence to credentialing, immunization, and background check protocols to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility standards.
