PCU RN Opportunity - Savannah, Georgia

Unit Details

Unit: Candler 4N (PCU 4N)
Beds: 12
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 4:1
Nurse Aide Ratio: 12:1
Shift: 12-hour nights
Scheduling: Self-scheduling allowed
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Yes
Call/Standby: No
Floating: No
Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Patient Population & Care

Common Diagnoses: Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, Heart Failure, etc.
Telemetry: Required skill
Drip Management: PCU nurses titrate set rate drips
Respiratory Equipment: Nasal cannula, face masks, BiPAP
Tele/Monitor Techs: None on unit; monitoring done on 3rd floor
Tele Monitor Brand: Space Lab
RNs do not read their own EKG strips
Charge Nurse: Yes, charge nurse takes an assignment

Requirements & Certifications

Minimum 2 years hospital experience in similar size and acuity
Successful completion of at least 1 travel contract
Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred

Orientation

One day computer skills training with basic knowledge assessment
Two shifts orientation with preceptor
