PCU RN Opportunity - Savannah, Georgia
Unit Details
- Unit: Candler 4N (PCU 4N)
- Beds: 12
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 4:1
- Nurse Aide Ratio: 12:1
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling allowed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Yes
- Call/Standby: No
- Floating: No
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Patient Population & Care
- Common Diagnoses: Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, Heart Failure, etc.
- Telemetry: Required skill
- Drip Management: PCU nurses titrate set rate drips
- Respiratory Equipment: Nasal cannula, face masks, BiPAP
- Tele/Monitor Techs: None on unit; monitoring done on 3rd floor
- Tele Monitor Brand: Space Lab
- RNs do not read their own EKG strips
- Charge Nurse: Yes, charge nurse takes an assignment
Requirements & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years hospital experience in similar size and acuity
- Successful completion of at least 1 travel contract
- Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred
Orientation
- One day computer skills training with basic knowledge assessment
- Two shifts orientation with preceptor
