PCU RN Opportunity - Savannah, Georgia

Unit Details

  • Unit: Candler 4N (PCU 4N)
  • Beds: 12
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 4:1
  • Nurse Aide Ratio: 12:1
  • Shift: 12-hour nights
  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling allowed
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Yes
  • Call/Standby: No
  • Floating: No
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Patient Population & Care

  • Common Diagnoses: Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, Heart Failure, etc.
  • Telemetry: Required skill
  • Drip Management: PCU nurses titrate set rate drips
  • Respiratory Equipment: Nasal cannula, face masks, BiPAP
  • Tele/Monitor Techs: None on unit; monitoring done on 3rd floor
  • Tele Monitor Brand: Space Lab
  • RNs do not read their own EKG strips
  • Charge Nurse: Yes, charge nurse takes an assignment

Requirements & Certifications

  • Minimum 2 years hospital experience in similar size and acuity
  • Successful completion of at least 1 travel contract
  • Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred

Orientation

  • One day computer skills training with basic knowledge assessment
  • Two shifts orientation with preceptor

Contract Length

  • 14 weeks
