Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: 5 West Medicine (5W MEDICINE 610)
- Number of Beds: 36
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC, 1-2 sitters
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, 1-2 sitters
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- Day RN: 1:5-6
- Night RN: 1:6-7
- Equipment:
- Medical remote telemetry monitoring
- Cerner Patient Observation (CPO)
- VC150 monitors in every patient room
- Workstations on wheels for every staff member
- Tap and Go computer/documentation access
- EMR System: Cerner
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse License (RN)
- BLS (required)
- ACLS (required)
- NIH Certification (required)
- CMSRN (encouraged)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Telemetry/Med-Surg)
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required
Skills & Qualifications
- Must have:
- BLS
- Medical Telemetry experience
- Preferred:
- Leadership experience
- Charge Nurse experience
- BSN degree
Work Environment & Expectations
- Fast-paced, team-oriented, compassionate work culture
- Hard-working personality fit preferred
- Floating areas include Med-Surg units: 3W, 5W, K8 (sister units)
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), white top with navy blue bottom, or all white
- Weekend shifts: Must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday count as weekend shifts on night shift)
Additional Notes
- Typical procedures: Preparation of patients for Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Operating Room (OR)
- Unit upholds a mission focused on care and improvement of human life
- Start date must be before 2/9/2026 (no exceptions)
