Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Must have Case Management experience, preferably in a similar type of organization.
  • Must have Acute Care case management experience.
  • Cerner experience is required.
  • Ratios: 1:25-1:28
  • Years of Experience Required: 5 years hospital case management (highest requirement)
  • First-timers accepted (will review).
  • Weekend shifts: Not required.
  • On-call: Not required.
  • Floating: Yes, clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs.
  • Block schedule accommodation: No.
  • Locals accepted: Considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Pending license accepted: No.
  • Guaranteed hours: Yes.
  • Special Requirements: Experience with Cerner/Power Chart, Wellsky (formerly naviHealth), PASRR entry (ASCEND), PAE knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Tennessee
  • Minimum 5 years of Case Management experience, including acute hospital case management
  • Case Management experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting
  • Experience with Cerner electronic health record system

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not explicitly required. First-time travelers will be considered.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation.
  • Government issued photo ID required during hours of service.
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification.
  • State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification (for RNs).
  • Drug testing: 10 panel drug screen with alcohol test within 1 year of start, updated annually.
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • Physical exam within last 12 months.
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declination form if declined).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe.
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations.
    • Hepatitis B series or positive titer (declinations accepted only under specific circumstances).
    • Varicella immunity (vaccines, titer, or history).
    • Flu vaccine required during flu season or approved exemption.
    • Hepatitis A required only for certain departments (not specified here).
  • References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions.
  • Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
  • Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, fit testing, parking forms, and immunization declination forms if applicable.

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs.
  • No weekend or on-call requirements.
  • Locals may be considered but not guaranteed.
  • Pending licenses are not accepted.
  • Contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
