Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Days 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• On Call: One night per week (7 PM - 7 AM), including at least one Friday call shift; holiday on-call shifts required (either 11 AM - 11 PM or 11 PM - 11 AM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Charting System: Epic
• Total Staffed Beds: 16
• Average Daily Census: 60
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in neurology, orthopedics, and transplant cases
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Oklahoma
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred
• EKG/Dysrhythmia competency testing required during compliance
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State-issued ID
• Utility bill in candidate’s name with matching address dated within last 3 months (address must be >75 miles from facility)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and various federal/state sanction lists
• Physical exam within 1 year, including statement of good health
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
• Immunizations/vaccinations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis A & B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination (or approved exemption)
• Drug screening (10-panel, including marijuana) within 30 days prior to start
• Fit mask testing completed onsite
• Various competency exams and annual updates required (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, core parts I-III, conscious sedation, etc.)
• Facility-specific orientation and training, including patient care orientation and Epic training if no recent experience

Additional Notes

• No more than 5 days of Return to Office (RTO) will be accepted
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• Must complete facility-specific policy acknowledgments and agreements prior to start
• References: Two former direct supervisor references required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
• Work history verification covering 10 years, including international positions if applicable

This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with specialized skills in neuro, ortho, robotics, and liver transplant who are open to travel assignments and meet the outlined compliance and certification requirements.
