ICU RN (Medical Intensive Care Unit) - Massachusetts

Job Details

• Location: Salem, Massachusetts
• Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
• Shift: Day Rotate and Every Other Weekend (EOW), 36 hours per week
• Floating: Required (primarily to Medical/Surgical units, managing up to 4-5 patients)
• Patient Ratio:

  • ICU: 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients
  • Med/Surg (when floated): 1:4 or 1:5
• Unit: 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (Level III Trauma Center)
• Patient Population: Adult patients with diagnoses including Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, Cardiogenic Shock
• EMR System: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License
• Minimum 2 years of continuous Adult ICU experience (preferably Medical ICU)
• Ability to read telemetry strips (Telemetry competency required)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Must be able to work rotating day shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) as needed; night shift does not rotate

• Attendings and residents present 24/7 in ICU

This position is suitable for experienced ICU RNs comfortable with floating to Med/Surg units and managing a diverse adult patient population in a high-acuity environment.
