Job Opportunity: Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Job Details

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Schedule: Rotating weekends and holidays
• Start Date: April 20 (year not specified)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 3 years of Pediatric RN experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS certification
• Government-issued photo ID required prior to start
• Must pass background checks including CORI and other standard screenings
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Required immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titers or boosters)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination form)
  • Varicella (positive titer)
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant screens not accepted)
• Fit testing for N95 mask required
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required annually

Additional Requirements

• Pass/Fail testing on EKG/medications on first day of orientation
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam with minimum passing score
• Color blindness testing (Ishihara test) required for certain units
• References:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care roles
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Scrub color is flexible; scrubs provided for OR if applicable.
• Various facility-specific forms and releases required prior to start (e.g., emergency contact, CORI release).

This position is ideal for experienced pediatric RNs licensed in Massachusetts who are comfortable with rotating shifts and weekend/holiday coverage in a travel contract role.
