Description
Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel Assignment
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit Type: ICU/PCU Overflow
- Number of Beds: 10
- Patient Ratios:
- ICU: 2:1
- PCU: 4-5:1
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 Staff RNs
- Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 Staff RNs
- No unit secretaries or patient care technicians available
- Floating required for travelers
- 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday support
- Bedside shift report mandatory
- Relief charge nurse expected to perform nurse leader rounding
Required Skills and Experience
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year
- Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
